Sweden's retail sales increased at a notably slower pace in March, data released by Statistics Sweden showed Monday.
Retail sales increased a working-day adjusted 1.8 percent annually in March, notably faster than the 3.4 percent gain seen in February, which was revised down from 3.5 percent.
Sales for consumables increased by 2.2 percent, and sales for durables increased by 1.8 percent from a year earlier.
Retail sales decreased a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent compared to February, when they increased by 0.9 percent.
During the three months ended March, trade in the retail sector rose 2.3 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier, after gaining 2.5 percent in the preceding three-month period. Sequentially, the volume of sales moved up by 1.6 percent during the three-month period.
