The George Harrison memorial garden at the Bhaktivedanta Manor Estate near Watford has been opened to the public. The site was donated by Harrison to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness after he became a follower of the Hare Krishna religion in the 70s.
In a statement, Harrison's widow, Olivia Harrison, said that many do not know that her late husband was an avid gardener:
"It is not generally known that George Harrison was an immensely talented and passionate gardener."
"As a celebration of his life, music and philosophy, Yvonne Innes and I have attempted to depict his life and journey from the material to the spiritual world," she added.
The Bhaktivedanta Manor Estate, established in 1973, is located about 40 miles to the northwest of London. Check the website for days the memorial garden is open to the public.
