Green Day Wins Best Rock Band At MTV Europe Awards

Green Day took home the award for Best Rock Band at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, which took place Sunday, Nov. 8 in Amsterdam. The California punk rock band beat out Black Sabbath, Kings Of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age, and the Killers to take home the honor.

Other winners from the night included 30 Seconds to Mars, which earned the Best Alternative Band award, beating out Arctic Monkeys, Fall Out Boy, Franz Ferdinand and Paramore.

Eminem was also feted as this year's Global Icon, an award that went to Whitney Houston last year. Em would perform later in the night, treating the audience to two songs - "Berzerk" and "Rap God."

In addition, Miley Cyrus, Linkin Park, and Bruno Mars won awards at the 2013 EMAs.
