The pound extended previous session's downtrend against the currencies of Europe and Switzerland and was stuck in lower-ranges against the US dollar and the Japanese yen in early London session on Monday.
The pound reached 0.8455 against the euro, its weakest level since November 13 and dropped to 1.4435 against the Swiss franc, a level last seen on October 31.
The sterling pared late Asian session gains against the dollar, trading in narrow ranges below the 1.63 from a session's high of 1.6338. The pound-yen pair stuck in ranges around the 168.0 area, improving from Asian session's 10-day low of 167.33.
