Nissan Motor Co Ltd. (NSANY.PK) said its global production in December increased 15.4 percent year-over-year to 396,211 units.
Production in Japan was down 5.8 percent to 82,544 units, mainly due to decreased volume of Rogue.
In the U.S., production increased 16 percent to 57,629 units, mainly due to higher demand for the new Rogue, Nissan LEAF and Sentra.
Global sales increased 15 percent year-on-year to 459,618 units, marking an all-time record for the month.
Nissan's exports in December decreased 31 percent from the prior year to 45,386 units.
