AngloGold Ashanti Names Christine Ramon As CFO Replacing Richard Duffy

South African mining company AngloGold Ashanti (AU,AGD.L) Monday announced appointment of Christine Ramon as its Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, effective October 1, 2014. She will be succeeding Richard Duffy, who will then resign from both the Board and Executive Committee.

Earlier, Ramon was the Chief Financial Officer at Sasol Ltd., a South African based energy and chemicals company, for seven years until September of last year. Prior to that, she had served as Finance Director of New Age Beverages and media, and also as Chief Executive Officer of Johnnic Holdings Ltd., between 2006 and 2013. Currently, she is a non-executive director on the board of Johannesburg-based telecommunications provider MTN Group, which has extensive operations across emerging markets in Africa and the Middle East.
