Excluding items, adjusted net income for the quarter was $334 million or $1.35 per share compared to $219 million or $0.85 per share a year earlier.On average, 21 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.30 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Total revenues for the quarter grew 21 percent to $1.52 billion from $1.25 billion in the same quarter last year. Analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $1.50 billion for the quarter.
Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, NXP Semiconductors forecasts adjusted earnings of $1.26 to $1.36 per share, on projected revenues between $1.485 billion to $1.545 billion. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $1.28 per share for the quarter on revenues of $1.49 billion.
