Laredo Petroleum, Inc. (LPI) Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $83.4 million or $0.58 per share, compared to $12.5 million or $0.09 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
On an adjusted basis, the company earned $27.5 million or $0.19 per share, up from $20.7 million or $0.15 per share in the prior year period. On average, 22 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.17 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Quarterly revenues rose to $200.24 million from $170.84 million a year ago, while 16 analysts estimated it to be $199.53 million.
