Both Lauryn Hill and Timbaland scored honors at the recent ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Awards. The exclusive event took place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills and Hill was presented with the ASCAP Golden Note Award, which tributes artists that have hit special career milestones.
Hill thanked her friends and colleagues at ASCAP for the award and then treated the invite-only audience to a medley of her hits including "Conformed to Love," "I Gotta Find Peace of Mind," "Lost Ones" and "Ex-Factor." She wrapped the set with her smash hit "Doo Wop (That Thing)" and brought the audience to their feet.
Timbaland was honored with the Songwriter of the Year award, and had a special tribute from Missy Elliott who appeared by video to say, "Timbaland has always changed music over and over and over again. I've been knowing Tim since high school. He's always been a genius."
