Red Hat Inc. (RHT) reported third quarter EPS of $0.61 after the bell Wednesday, up from $0.48 last year. Analysts expected EPS of $0.58. The company expects to report fourth quarter EPS of approximately $0.61 and full year EPS of approximately $2.27. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.61 and $2.22.
The company also announced that Frank Calderoni has decided to step down as Executive Vice President, Operations and Chief Financial Officer of Red Hat, effective in late January.
Red Hat gapped open sharply lower Thursday and slipped further in early trade. The stock was range-bound for the bulk of the session and closed down by 11.08 at $68.71 on the highest volume of the year. Red Hat plunged to over a 9-month low.
