U2's Bono and the Edge busked on Christmas Eve as part of an annual all-star fundraising event for a homeless charity.

The singer and guitarist joined several other musicians in the annual tradition of charity busking outside of the Gaiety Theatre to raise money for the Simon Community homeless charity.

The annual event also featured performances from organizer Glen Hansard of The Frames, Damien Rice, Imelda May and a number of other Irish musicians.

Bono and The Edge performed two Christmas carols, "O Holy Night" and "Night Divine." They also joined the rest of the musicians to perform Darlene Love's 1963 classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).

According to the Guardian, Bono told the crowd: "As the buckets go around, fill them with silver, fill them with hope - [it's] the season of hope."
