Country star Eric Church's brother Brandon Church died as a result of chronic alcoholism, according to TMZ.
Brandon died on June 29, 2018 after suffering two seizures. He was 36.
According to the autopsy report obtained by TMZ, Brandon had a clinical history of alcohol withdrawal-induced seizure disorder. Brandon suffered two seizures before he died last June in Granite Falls, North Carolina. The second seizure sent him into cardiac arrest.
The autopsy report indicates that the alcohol abuse also caused a thickening of his heart, coronary artery disease and liver damage.
Brandon had written a handful of songs over the years with his famous brother.
"In lieu of flowers, please pay forward a gift that will keep on giving to others through furthering their education," a note at a Deposit a Gift site set up in his honor reads. "The Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to bless others and honor a benevolent life. Thank you for showing your love and support to the Church family."
More than $45,000 has been raised in six months.
