Agency broker and financial technology firm Investment Technology Group, Inc. (ITG) Monday said its US trading volume for May 2009 increased from the same month last year.
The New York-based company's May 2009 US trading volume increased to 4.2 billion shares from 3.7 billion shares in the same month last year. Average daily volume, or ADV, came in at 208 million shares, up from ADV of 177 million shares in May 2008.
Investment Technology Group said that during May 2009 there were 20 trading days compared to 21 trading days in the same period last year.
The company noted that monthly volume statistics reflect commission-generating US volume that are preliminary and may be revised in subsequent updates and public filings.
Year-to-date the company's total US trading volume was 21.40 billion shares, while ADV was 209.70 million shares.
ITG is currently trading at $22.90, down $0.51 or 2.18%, on a volume of 0.21 million shares on the NYSE.
