PriceSmart June Comps Increase - Update

Tuesday, warehouse retailer PriceSmart, Inc. (PSMT) reported an increase in comparable warehouse sales for the month of June. Net sales for the month rose 4%.

For the month, comparable warehouse sales increased 1.4% compared with the same period last year. Net sales were up 4.0% to $95.7 million from $92.0 million in June a year earlier.

For the forty-three week period ended June 28, comparable warehouse sales increased 10.6% compared with the forty-three week period a year ago. Year-to-date, net sales were up 13.1% to $1.02 billion from $903.3 million last year.

San Diego, US-based PriceSmart now operates 26 warehouse clubs in 11 countries and one U.S. Territory compared to 25 warehouse clubs last year.

PSMT is currently trading at $16.65, up 1.09%, on the Nasdaq.
