Italy's total trade balance swung to a deficit of EUR74 million in October from EUR461 million surplus recorded in the previous year, the statistical office said Wednesday. Exports decreased 1.3% year-on-year to EUR 34.36 billion, while imports rose 0.3% to EUR 34.43 billion.
Italy's trade balance with EU countries led to a surplus of EUR 291 million, down from EUR 767 million surplus posted in the last year. Exports were down 4.4% from the prior year, while imports dropped 2.2%.
