Music fans perusing the Internet in recent days may have noticed a number of viral websites asking the question, "Who is Lola?"
Now, the answer has been revealed. Lola is a re-branded Jennifer Lopez, whose new song, "Fresh Out of the Oven," has been released under the new moniker.
"Lola is just for this song, it's not her ongoing persona," a source close to the singer was quoted as saying on Spreadit.org.
With the temporary name change, J-Lo has become another in a long line of music stars to experiment with different personas to mixed results. Beyoncé's Sasha Fierce never really caught on, and Garth Brooks had a rare misstep as rocker Chris Gaines.
Lopez has launched a website and Twitter page to promote the song and build buzz for her next album, Love?, which will be released in January.
