At 8:00 am ET Thursday, the Swiss National Bank is slated to announce its interest rate decision. Ahead of the announcement, the franc showed mixed trading against other major currencies. The franc gained against the yen and the U.S. dollar, but recovered recent losses against the pound. Meanwhile, the franc showed choppy trend versus the euro.
At 7:55 am ET, the franc was worth 1.6095 against the pound, 1.4608 against the euro, 84.83 against the yen and 1.0695 against the U.S. dollar.
Economists expect the central bank to keep rates on hold at 0.25%.
