Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (VRTX) announced after the close Tuesday that 65% of people overall achieved a sustained viral response with a telaprevir-based regimen in the Phase 3 REALIZE study, compared to 17% of people in the control arm who received pegylated-interferon and ribavirin alone. The stock is now up 0.49 on 39K shares.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals fell in the first half hour of trade Tuesday and slipped further around the middle of the afternoon. Shares finished down by 1.05 at $35.01. The stock closed near the middle of a 3 1/2 month range.
