Beyoncé's I Am . . . World Tour DVD has been certified double platinum after its release last Friday.
The DVD was edited, produced, and directed by Beyoncé for her Parkwood Pictures company and features footage from 108 shows across 32 cities and 6 continents. It aired as a TV special on Thanksgiving evening, scoring a ratings hit for ABC.
A deluxe version of the DVD features the concert soundtrack, previously unseen footage, an intimate documentary, a travelogue, and a 40-page collection of unseen photographs. It was released on November 30.
The DVD is a companion to Beyonce's last studio album, I Am . . . Sasha Fierce, whose sales have totaled more than 6 million copies and 15 million digital singles worldwide. The Blu-ray version of the DVD is slated for release on December 7.
