Friday, Brooklyn Federal Bancorp Inc. (BFSB), the holding company for Brooklyn Federal Savings Bank, announced the elevation of Richard Kielty, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, as Chief Executive Officer of the company, BFS Bancorp, MHC and Brooklyn Federal Savings Bank, effective January 2, 2009.
Angelo Di Lorenzo, the Chief Executive Officer will retire effective January 2, 2009, however, Di Lorenzo will continue as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
"The Company's President and Chief Operating Officer, Richard Kielty, has been with the Bank for over 37 years. We have worked side-by-side and I know he has the skills to lead our organization to greater heights," said Di Lorenzo.
BFSB closed Friday's trading down $0.05 or 0.38% at $13.15 on a volume of 7,992 shares.
