HMS Holdings Q2 profit increases; raises FY08 outlook - Quick facts

HMS Holdings Corp. (HMSY) reported second quarter net income of $5.0 million or $0.19 per share compared to $3.8 million or $0.15 per share last year.

On average, 4 analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected earnings of $0.16 per share.

Quarterly revenue grew 26.0% to $44.2 million from $35.1 million in the year ago period. Three Wall Street analysts' consensus revenue estimate came in at $40.49 million.

Looking ahead, the company raises fiscal 2008 revenue guidance to $175 million from $170 million projected earlier, up 19% from last year. Analysts expect revenues of $171.91 million for the full year.

For full year 2008, the company raised earnings outlook to $0.75 per share from $0.73 per share estimated earlier, which represents growth of 32% from previous year. Analysts expect earnings of $0.73 per share for the year.
