DaVita Inc. (DVA) announced that its fourth quarter net income was $98.4 million or $0.94 per share, compared to $85.7 million or $0.79 per share for the same period of 2007.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.90 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net operating revenues for the quarter rose to $1.46 billion from $1.35 billion in the prior year quarter. Nine analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $1.47 billion for the quarter.
For 2009, the company still expects operating income to be in the range of $820 million - $880 million.
