Wednesday, Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana, a unit of Vectren Corp. (VVC), announced that it has received an approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to add further 50 megawatts of wind energy from an Indiana wind farm.
The purchase will provide enough energy to power about 15 thousand homes annually and will bring Vectren's total wind power portfolio to 80 MW, which allows Vectren to meet 4% of its customers' needs with renewable energy.
