J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (JBHT), on Thursday, reported its net income increased in the first quarter compared with the previous year despite challenging winter weather and elevated demand across the business.
For the first quarter, net income increased to $141.55 million from $117.74 million in the prior year.
Earnings per share were $1.49 versus $1.17 last year.
Operating income jumped to $207.05 million from $178.68 million in the previous year.
Revenue increased to $3.06 billion from $2.92 billion in the prior year.
On Wednesday, J.B. Hunt Transport Services closed trading, 2.37% lesser at $224.17 on the Nasdaq. In the overnight, the stock traded 0.59% higher at $225.50.
