Who bassist John Entwistle was found dead at the age of 57 in his room at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 27, 2002. The band was scheduled to embark on their 2002 U.S. tour when Entwistle was found unresponsive by a stripper with whom he had spent the night. An autopsy proved that the rocker had died of a heart attack over night and traces of cocaine were found in his blood. After his body was returned to the U.K., he was examined at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and doctors soon announced that he had been suffering from heart disease. "Cocaine would not have caused death on its own. This was not cocaine poisoning. This sort of level would not have caused his death had it not been for the effects it had on his damaged heart,” a medical examiner told the U.K.’s Independent.
