Coldplay dedicated "Fix You" to Rolling Stones fronter Mick Jagger at a New York City show on Monday, May 5. From the stage Chris Martin said that the send-out was in acknowledgement of Mick's hard time following the death of his gal pal L'Wren Scott:
"It's for Mick Jagger," said Martin before the band launched into the touching tribute.
Scott committed suicide in March. During a memorial last week Mick sang Bob Dylan's "Just Like a Woman." Jagger's son James added a poem reading, while two of his grandchildren read Psalm 23. Long time Rolling Stone back up singer Lisa Fischer added a rendition of "Amazing Grace."
At the NYC show Coldplay also auditioned "True Love," a previously unheard cut from their upcoming album Ghost Stories, due May 19.
