Internet giant Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) Thursday announced an updated Yahoo Mail app, which now features a new password-free option, ability to connect with other email services and better search.

Yahoo Mail can now sign in to their mail id using a user name and a smartphone, as the new password-free login will allow users to authenticate any device using their main smartphone. Yahoo Mail will send a notification to the user's primary smartphone and it has to be authenticated.

Dylan Casey, vice president of product management at Yahoo, said, "We're now taking a major leap towards a password-free future with the launch of Yahoo Account Key, which uses push notifications to give users simple and secure access using their mobile device."

Yahoo Mail users can also connect and manage their email accounts from Outlook.com, Hotmail and AOL Mail, right from Yahoo Mail on mobile and desktop.

The new Yahoo Mail app is available in the Apple App Store to all global users today, and rolling out to Android users in Google Play starting today.
