Cage the Elephant has released the music video for "Trouble," featuring an old west theme with a psych twist. The vid, directed by CTE fronter Matt Shultz, and first time helmer, has a top-notch pedigree.
"I really wanted to make a video that was like John Wayne or a young Clint Eastwood acting in a Cocteau play or Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries," Shultz stated.
"A metaphorical journey that hopefully people could read between the lines."
According to Radio.com, the vid "combines Have Gun Will Travel with a touch of Alice in Wonderland," ABC, meanwhile, calls it "weird."
"Trouble" is featured on Cage's most recent album Tell Me I'm Pretty.
CTE's upcoming North America arena tour kicks off in Little Rock on May 1.
