Minnesota police have confirmed that Prince was in possession of prescription drugs at the time of his death. The rock legend was found dead in an elevator at his Paisley Park home/business compound earlier this month.
Authorities have carried out a post mortem but thus far no official cause of death has been revealed. The singer was also reported to have overdosed on the pain medication Percoset in the days before his death during a cross-country flight.
Now the investigating authorities have also confirmed that he was in possession of the same drug at the time of his death. Though they have not officially stated that the drug was involved in his death, they have also revealed that the DEA has been invited to join the investigation by local authorities in Minnesota.
