The Killers have announced that bassist Mark Stoermer is taking a break from touring.
Stoermer, who will still be involved with recording the band's new album, plans to make a solo album and "pursue other educational goals."
"Mark has decided to take a break from The Killers touring," a statement from the group reads. "But don't be surprised if you see him on stage from time to time. Everyone supports Mark's decision to take a break to pursue other educational goals and releasing a solo album."
Rumors are that Stoermer will be replaced by Jake Blanton, an American singer-songwriter who previously replaced Stoermer when the bassist was unable to play a tour of the Far East in 2013.
Stoermer released his debut solo album, Another Life, in 2011.
