Lauren Alaina will be making her debut acting gig as the lead role in the film, Road Less Traveled. The singer discusses the excitement of a first time acting performance, including an onscreen kiss.
The film, named after a new single by Alaina of the same name deals with a dark period in her life. Three traumatic events are the focus of the film; her own battle with bulimia, her parent's divorce, and her father's alcoholism. The singer ties these emotions into the anxieties of acting for the first time. In the film, Alaina has to share a kiss. Alaina told Taste of Country, "It was a little nerve-wracking to kiss onscreen. It's so uncomfortable because so many people are watching and you've just met the person."
The single "Road Less Traveled" was co-written with Meghan Trainor and appeared on her 2015 self-titled EP. The film will be released sometime in January of 2017.
