Sats is the short for "Satoshi" , which refers to the smallest indivisible unit of a Bitcoin.

In other words, a Satoshi is one hundred millionth of a single bitcoin.
The term is derived from the name of Bitcoin's mysterious creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
Traders usually trade in satoshis or sats rather than whole Bitcoins.
