Popular digital currency exchange Binance launched a platform where euro and pound can be converted into cryptocurrency. The EUR/GBP fiat-to-crypto trading exchange, named Binance Jersey (Binance.je), was opened in the British Crown dependency of Jersey.

Online trading in BTC/GBP, ETH/GBP, BTC/EUR and ETH/EUR trading pairs are now open.

Registrations, deposits and withdrawals are now also available, the Malta-based cryptocurrency exchange announced on Wednesday.

As an initial offer, Binance promises the first 5,000 users who register and complete Account Verification (KYC) on www.binance.je a reward of EUR20.

Binance.je supports the following jurisdictions: Argentina, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Latvia, Romania, Armenia, Finland, Liechtenstein, Singapore, Australia, France, Lithuania, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, Gibraltar, Macau, South Africa, Belgium, Greece, Malta, South Korea, Brazil, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Mexico, Sweden, Canada, Iceland, Monaco, Switzerland, Chile, Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Croatia, Israel, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, Italy, Norway, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Jamaica, Peru, Uruguay, Denmark, Japan, Poland, Estonia, Jersey and Portugal.

"Expanding the cryptocurrency exchange markets with fiat currencies in the European region is opening new economic opportunities for Europeans as well as freedom from looming Brexit uncertainty where the pound and euro are also in concern," said Binance CFO Wei Zhou.

Binance Jersey is also part of a cooperative effort to promote growth in the region, such as developing local banking relationships and local talent.

cryptocurrency is covered by a legal and regulatory framework in Jersey, an island near the French coast of Normandy.
