Kier (KIE.L) said it has been announced preferred bidder by Telford & Wrekin Council for a £200 million contract to build sports and learning communities across the borough. Kier will be demolishing existing secondary schools and replacing them with learning environments that incorporate sporting and community facilities.
Work on the first of these facilities - the Abraham Darby Sports and Learning Community - is due to start in March and is scheduled to be completed in September 2011.
