(PTEN) reported that for the month of September 2009, the company had an average of 81 drilling rigs operating, including 77 rigs in the United States and 4 rigs in Canada. For the three months ended September 2009, the company said it had an average of 73 drilling rigs operating, including 70 rigs in the United States and 3 rigs in Canada.
The company said it intends to continue providing monthly updates on drilling rigs operating shortly after the end of each month.
