Wednesday, comScore Inc. (SCOR) released its first public report on Internet usage in Hong Kong for the month of August, indicating Yahoo! (YHOO) sites as most visited web destination followed by Microsoft (MSFT) and Google (GOOG) sites.

"An average Hong Kong Internet user spends more than 25 hours online per month, making it one of the most engaged Internet markets globally," said Will Hodgman, comScore executive vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.

The report provided an overview of the most visited properties in Hong Kong and what activities captured the largest share of visitors' time online.

According to the report, online communications, entertainment and social networking occupied the highest share of Hong Kong Internet users' attention in August.

Instant Messenger sites captured the largest share of visitors' minutes, accounting for nearly 16% of time spent online in Hong Kong.

In August, nearly 4 million people in Hong Kong aged 15+ accessed the Internet from their home or work computers.

Unlike the U.S. market where Google sites continue to reign the Internet, Yahoo! sites captured the top position with 3.1 million visitors, reaching 80% of the online population in Hong Kong.

Microsoft sites ranked second with 2.6 million visitors, followed by Google Sites with 2.5 million visitors and Facebook.com with 2.1 million visitors.
