NetGear Inc. (NTGR) net income for the third-quarter was $8.5 million or $0.24 per share, compared with net income of $3.1 million or $0.09 per share for the third quarter of 2008.
On a non-GAAP basis, NetGear reported earnings of $10.97 million or $0.31 per share, compared with $6.89 million or $0.19 per share last year. Six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.08 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Net revenue for the third quarter was $171.1 million, compared with $179.4 million for the same quarter in the year-ago period. Analysts expected revenue of $155.99 million for the same quarter.
For the fourth quarter, the company expects net revenue in the range between $170 million to $180 million, with non-GAAP operating margin guidance range of 7% to 9%.
