Galliford Try plc (GFRD.L) said its infrastructure business in Scotland, Morrison Construction, has been awarded a contract by Transport Scotland to design and construct a new five kilometre section of the A96 to bypass the villages of Fochabers and Mosstodloch. The contract, which is valued at £31.5 million, includes the construction of new single carriageway with overtaking lanes, two bridges and four underpasses.
The company noted that the bypass will improve safety and significantly reduce congestion on this major trunk road connecting Aberdeen and Inverness, the principal access route across North East Scotland.
