Spain Mortgage Lending Decreases In August

Mortgage lending in Spain dropped 24.2% year-on-year to EUR 5.87 billion in August, the National Statistics Institute said Monday. Month-on-month, mortgage lending decreased 13.4%.

In August, the average value of mortgages approved during the month dropped 11.6% annually but was up 0.8% on a monthly basis. Meanwhile, the number of cancellations declined 15.4% from the previous year.
