Oceaneering Intl. Q3 Profit Declines; Revises FY09 EPS Forecast; Guides Q4, FY10 EPS - Quick Facts

Oceaneering International, Inc. (OII) reported third quarter net income of $49.5 million or $0.90 per share, compared to $54.3 million or $0.98 per share in the prior year period.

On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.87 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue for the period was $484 million, compared to $516 million in last year period. Ten Wall Street analysts expected revenues of $471.38 million.

Looking forward, for the fourth quarter of 2009, the company expects earnings per in the range of $0.75 to $0.81. Street analysts expect earnings of $0.85 per share.

For the fiscal year 2009, the company now expects earnings per share in a range of $3.32 to $3.38, compared to its earlier projection in the range of $3.25 to $3.45. Street analysts expect earnings of $3.39 per share.

Fiscal year 2010 earnings per share is estimated to be relatively flat with 2009, in the range of $3.25 to $3.55. Fourteen Street analysts expect earnings of $3.51 per share.
