HMS Holdings Q3 Profit Up; Lifts FY09 Outlook - Quick Facts

Friday, HMS Holdings Corp. (HMSY) said its third-quarter net income increased to $8.37 million or $0.30 per share from $6.14 million or $0.23 per share in the prior year period. On average, 7 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.28 per share for the quarter.

Revenue for the quarter rose to $59.16 million from $48.96 in the comparable period. Four analysts estimated revenues of $57.49 million for the quarter.

The company said it has raised its full-year earnings per share guidance to $1.08 from 1.05 and revenue guidance to $228.5 million from $222.0 million. Seven analysts estimate earnings of $1.06 per share on revenues of $223.00 million for fiscal 2009.

For fiscal 2010, the company said its earnings per share are projected to increase to $1.34 and revenues are expected to grow to $280.5 million.
