The video, directed by Hype Williams, was shot in Harlem, Times Square and around Ground Zero in New York. It shows various still shots of iconic landmarks in the city - Ebbets Field, Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden - intercut with clips of Hov and Keys performing the song.

"Empire State of Mind," which appears on Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3, was released as a single in September and has reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The rapper and Keys first premiered the song at the MTV Video Music Awards.
