Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL) reported that its traffic in October increased 1.7% from October 2008, on a capacity decrease of 2.6%.
The airline said its October traffic rose 1.7% to 7.26 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 7.14 billion RPMs in the same period last year. The airline's October capacity was 8.80 billion available seat miles, down 2.6% from 9.04 billion ASMs in the prior year period.
Load factor for October 2009 was 82.5%, down 3.5 points from 79.0% in October 2008.
