Fresenius Medical Care Q3 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

Tuesday, Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA (FMS) reported net income attributable to FMC AG & Co. of $225.3 million or $0.76 per share, compared to $206.3 million or $0.69 per share in the same quarter last year.

On a per share basis, the company reported third-quarter net income of $0.76, up from $0.69 in the year ago quarter.

On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.75 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total net revenue for the quarter was $2.9 billion, up 6.5% from $2.7 billion in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $2.84 billion for the quarter.

Looking ahead to the full year 2009, the company expects revenue of about $11.2 billion, compared to the prior year guidance of $11.1 billion. Net income attributable to FMC AG & Co. KGaA is expected to be in the range of $865 million - $890 million, compared to the previous range of $850 million - $890 million. Analysts currently anticipate the company to earn $2.94 per share on revenue of 11.13 billion.
