Icahn Enterprises Q3 Profit Surges - Quick Facts

Icahn Enterprises, L.P. (IEP) announced that its third-quarter net income attributable to Icahn Enterprises was $110 million, compared to $23 million in the year ago quarter. Income per LP unit for the quarter was $1.39, compared to $0.32 in the year ago quarter. Net income attributable to Icahn Enterprises from continuing operations was $111 million or $1.45 per LP unit, compared to net income of $25 million or $0.34 per LP unit, for the comparable period of 2008. Revenues for the quarter were $2.182 billion, compared to $1.796 billion in the year ago quarter.

Net income attributable to Icahn Enterprises from continuing operations was $240 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2009, or $3.13 per LP unit, compared to a net loss of $61 million, or $1.27 loss per LP unit, for the comparable period of 2008. Revenues for the quarter were $6.171 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2009, as compared to $4.791 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2008.
