Copa Holdings Oct. Traffic Up 17.7% - Quick Facts

Copa Holdings S.A. (CPA) and its Copa Airlines and Aero Republica operating subsidiaries, released preliminary passenger traffic statistics for October 2009.

Copa Holdings reported a 17.7% increase in October traffic to 668.4 million revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 567.9 million RPMs last year. Capacity in October rose 6.6% to 827 million available seat miles or ASMs from 775.9 million ASMs in the 2008 period. Load factor for the month of October grew 7.6 percentage point to 80.8% from 73.2% a year ago.

Copa Airlines segment passenger traffic for October was up 16.6%, and capacity increased 7.3%. This resulted in a load factor of 81.9%, a 6.5 percentage point increase when compared to October 2008.

Aero Republica passenger traffic for October 2009 increased 24.7%, while capacity was up 2.8%. Load factor for the month was 75.2%, a 13.2 percentage point increase when compared to October 2008.
