Elton John has confirmed that he will not be rescheduling the U.K. shows he was forced to cancel late last month after being hospitalized with the flu and E coli.

The canceled shows were part of the singer's Red Piano tour, and were supposed to take place October 23-28. They included performances at Sheffield Arena, Newcastle Metro Radio Arena, Wembley Arena and Liverpool Echo Arena.

"Sadly, due to venue availability and the scale of the Red Piano show, these shows cannot be rescheduled and have now been canceled," the shows' promoter said.

Elton John appeared at his annual AIDS benefit in New York earlier this week, and took the opportunity to publicly state how much he hates canceling shows.

"The worst thing was having to cancel shows," he said. "I hate that. But I'm back on my feet and I'm bouncing around now."

Ticket holders are advised to contact the company through which they purchased tickets in order to get a full refund.
