Two members of the Four Tops reached out to underprivileged youth in the Detroit area last week, helping to give away nearly 4,000 new coats.

Abdul "Duke" Fakir, the classic Motown quartet's only surviving original member, and Lawrence Payton Jr., the son of group founder Lawrence Payton, helped to distribute the new coats to children at the New Rogell Golf Course.

In order to qualify for the giveaway, parents of the children had to pick up a free voucher from any Happy Pizza location or from the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.

"Nowadays, even buying a winter coat can be a struggle for families dealing with layoffs and tight budgets," said Neil Master, marketing director for Happy's Pizza. "It's our attempt to give something back to the community."
