Springsteen To Receive Kennedy Center Honor

Bruce Springsteen will be awarded with a Kennedy Center Honor on Sunday. The Boss will join comedian Mel Brooks, jazz musician Dave Brubeck, opera diva Grace Brumbry and actor Robert DeNiro as this year's honorees.

"It is with honor that I accept this recognition. It is a privilege to be recognized in the company of the very best of my fellow artists," Springsteen said in a statement.

The honorees are not scheduled to perform at the event, but will be seated for the ceremony with President Obama and the First Lady.

Previous honorees include Paul Simon, Steve Martin, Brian Wilson, Jack Nicholson, Tina Turner, Lauren Bacall, Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan.

The ceremony will be broadcast on December 29 on CBS.
