Taylor Swift appears on the cover of this weekend's T: The New York Times Style Magazine.

In the interview with the magazine's editor, Lynn Hirschberg, Swift talks about her love of music as a child and how she came to be the country star she is today. Swift credits LeAnne Rimes with being a major influence on her.

The 20-year-old also tells a story about how her parents realized that she had a gift for music after taking her to see The Little Mermaid.

"On the way home from seeing that movie in the theater, I was in the car, in the backseat singing the words to songs I heard in the movie," explains Swift. "[My parents] kind of looked at each other and were really confused as to how I was remembering the words after seeing the movie only once."

The magazine will be available Sunday. A taped version of the interview is available to watch online.
